(meets the third Wednesday of every month)
The Marlinton Book Discussion Group formed in December, 2001. The group has approximately10 members, and meets (usually) the first Monday of every month. The meetings are held at McClintic Library at 7:00 pm. Books are chosen by member agreement.

Members obtain their own books. The McClintic Library will have one copy of each selection in its collection, and can obtain further copies through Interlibrary Loan.

For further information, call Liz Gay at 799-4644 or Denise McNeel at 799-4369.

The book selection for November 4, 2002 is "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Harriet Beecher Stowe. The book discussion group will choose at that meeting the book for December.

October's book was "Mama Makes Up Her Mind," by Bailey White.

November's book was "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Harriet Beecher Stowe

In December, 2002, the group met to plan out the following year's reading schedule for 2003. Some of the discussion leaders are still to be chosen.

Following is a letter by Liz Gay, along with the coming year's book list:

Here is the schedule for next year...

If we have to cancel because of bad weather the book for that night will carry over to the next meeting..

I think most of these books are available in paperback..Denise, we put The Lovely Bones as a fall reading so that hopefully it will be in paper by that time.

Jane at The Rock House can order books for us or you can request an interlibrary loan.

The leader is responsible for light refreshments, but feel free to bring something.

Liz will place meeting reminders.

Dec Book selection for next year

It was an enjoyable dilemma choosing books on Monday nite. We welcome new members at anytime.

I think we all know someone who would enjoy belonging to a group with no officers, no dues and no

fundraising..encouage them to join us..

Quot libros. Quam breve tempus! [So many books. So little time.. I saw this on a tee-shirt!] liz
