Annually
at its June meeting, the County Board of Trustees is to appoint a Community
Advisory Board for each branch of the Pocahontas County Free Libraries. The
Advisory Board members will represent different segments of the community and
their term of office will be one year. A person can be reappointed for more than
one
term.
The
purpose of the Advisory Boards is to act as a committee of the County Board of
Trustees to:
1. Encourage
support for the library within the community at large including
recruitment of volunteers;
2. Widen
and increase use of library facilities and services as established within the
policies of the County Board of Trustees;
3. Work
with the Branch Librarian to assure the responsiveness of the library to local
needs;
4. Advise
librarians and the County Board of Trustees on problems and opportunities facing
the library, including services, maintenance, and facility
needs.
For
further information on the Community Advisory Board responsibilities, see
section V in the County Board policy.
