Hillsboro Library was founded by Mrs.
Louise McNeel, who died in August, 2003 at the age of 89. She continued to be an
enthusiastic supporter, generous donor, and hard-working volunteer. Above all,
Louise McNeel exuded life, energy, and selfless giving to her community. The
Hillsboro Library was graced by her presence and will aspire to live up to the
dreams she had for it.
Hillsboro Library is
proud to announce its new
Farm and
Homestead Collection. Approximately 250
books on an array of subjects related to growing or raising things comprise this
stunning new collection. Books include raising livestock from cattle and horses
to rabbits and chickens; growing plants from apple orchards and pasture to
strawberries and mushrooms; and building projects from water systems, livestock
sheds, and utilizing technology such as solar. This collection is likely to be
the most extensive of this kind in West Virginia. The materials selected
included recommendations from the community. With your library card, you may
borrow these materials to read at your leisure. Already this collection has
become popular with our public. Do visit the Hillsboro Library to view this
collection, and to take a few volumes home.
