Heritage Room Policy
Books and microfilm located in the Heritage Room have been made possible by donations.
The Museum also has its collection in the Heritage Room.
Researchers are encouraged to visit and use our Heritage Room. To maintain security of our irreplaceable collection, researchers are directed to observe the following guidelines:
- Patrons are encouraged to sign our guest book.
- No items in Heritage Room are loaned out to patrons or borrowing libraries.
- No purses, backpacks or briefcases allowed. Please leave items in your vehicle.
- You may use a laptop computer in the Heritage Room; but please leave the case in the staff office or in your vehicle.
- Use pencil only. Pencils are provided in the Heritage Room, please ask if you need paper.
- Use only one box of files at a time.
- During last one half hour of operations, no materials will be pulled. Researchers are encouraged to finish research.
- No food or drinks allowed.
- Patrons are to keep the volume of their conversations as low as practical.
- Copies are .15 per page; you must pay for all pages.
- Use of the Heritage Room for meetings by organizations, for tutoring students, for computer use, or for private conversations is at the discretion and administrative approval of the Director or authorized designee.
- The Heritage Room will be kept locked unless it is being used.
- When being used, the Heritage Room will be monitored regularly by the staff or volunteer in charge of the circulation desk. Only personnel knowledgeable and responsible to this policy may permit guests to use the Heritage Room.
Many libraries, museums, and research institutions have strong policies to secure their valuable collections while encouraging and facilitating responsible research. We warmly welcome our guests to the Heritage Room of the McClintic Library.
