This project will consist of oral history interview with people of Pocahontas County to record their memories and life history. This will be a great source of genealogy information. We are hoping to kick-start this project at the Little Levels Heritage Fair, followed by filming at Pioneer Days and Durbin Days.

We will be looking for volunteers to do filming. Volunteers will receive training on use of video equipment and etc. We would also like to pair a senior with a young person to do the interviewing creating a new and lasting relationship for both parties. We will need to raise some money for equipment.

B.J. has already started a similar project in Greenbrier County. Ideally somewhere in the future this project would encompass the entire state. Preserving our history in our own words.
